Siam heute/Siam wanni – The German-Thai eMagazine

Culture, way of life, mentality, travelling destinations – the cultural eMagazine Siam heute/Siam Wanni (translated: “Siam Today”) writes about these topics in Thai and German. Publisher of the quarterly magazine is Pai Co., Ltd./Bangkok.

The articles in German inform about Thailand: Stories narrate people’s lives and fates. Political, economic and cultural interviews reveal the variety of opinions. News reports explain how life in Thailand is affected by changes of political, economic and social conditions. The Thai articles focus on the people’s lives, cultures, technological developments in Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

The bilingual concept with the intention to build bridges between the cultures is unique. The makers of Siam heute/Siam wanni inform about different manners, attitudes and life-styles without judging these.

Quality is essential. Editor-in-chief, Prof. Birte Bolte, had been working as an editor for the German newspaper Nordwest-Zeitung (North West Newspaper) before she moved with her husband, Dipl.-Pol. Jatsada Chuychunu, to Thailand in 2007. “The use of the different journalistic devices is very important to draw and keep the reader’s attention”, the editor-in-chief says.

“High-quality writing guarantees the best advertising effect: The more time the people spend on reading, the better it is for the advertising companies. Moreover, our readers know about our quality and therefore trust in the quality of the products of the advertising companies, as well”, CEO Jatsada Chuychunu explains.

The team of Siam heute gets valuable support from the Thai-German Community in Bangkok (Sathorn 1), the Association of Former Thai Students in Germany under Royal Patronage (next to the Thai-German Community) and the Tourism Authority of Thailand.
